May God's Love Bloom in our Hearts

Yesterday we learned how to fold a pretty piece of construction paper two times, draw half a heart on it and cut it out.  One at a time the children giggled with excitement as they unfolded the paper and found they had cut out not only one heart, but two!  Well, giggle is an understatement--I actually had to shut my door to contain the shrieks of excitement in the classroom.  Every year the reaction is exactly the same.  I love it!  We made flowers with the hearts and they are posted up with the caption "May God's Love Grow in our Hearts!"  Our Bible verses this month are a great reminder of not only God's love for us, but of our responsibility to love others.  Only God can give us this genuine, unselfish love for others.

"We love Him because He first loved us." I John 4:19

"Love one another."  I John 3:23

Western Day was so much fun!  We had a wonderful time pretending to be cowboys and cowgirls.  We are definitely ready for Fall Festival with all the great costumes.  I'm looking forward to seeing all my kids there tomorrow!

A New Year Has Begun!

We have had a fabulous start to a new school year, and now it's the parents' turn to come in for a visit.  The children have worked hard on their first drawings of the year, so don't miss the opportunity to come have a peek in the classroom. You may just recognize yourself in one of the artwork pictures!
We look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow night at the Parent Teacher Fellowship, where we will meet at 6:00 p.m. in the gym.
